DESCRIPTION

South Africa is one of our favourite countries given its amazing variety of wildlife, cultures and friendly people, hence why it is one of our top picks!

We kick off with some luxury in Cape Town and along the garden route, mix it up with a behind-the-scenes safari experience where we will be helping out with a variety of conservation and community projects, and finally spend a couple of nights in a luxury beachside hotel for some final R&R.


PROPOSED SAMPLE ITINERARY

 

Day 1: Flight to Cape Town

Depart on evening flight.

Day 2: Welcome to South Africa! 

Arrive early afternoon, head to accommodation and settle in. Take a familiarisation stroll around town and evening hotel lobby briefing from your chaperone. Welcome dinner at Gold restaurant.

Day 3: Day at leisure or arranged excursions

Day at leisure in Cape Town to explore solo or join your chaperone and group to the Cape of Good Hope. Beware the baboons!

Day 4: Stellenbosch vineyards

After breakfast we will transfer through the beautiful wine region as a group, stopping for lunch and wine tasting. After lunch we move onwards to Hermanus where we will spend the evening.

Day 5: Morning in Hermanus

The morning at leisure to take in some whale spotting, before heading aboard your private transport to Knysna. Evening in Knysna waterfront.

Day 6: Knysna & Jeffreys Bay

Morning at leisure in Knysna, afternoon transfer through to Jeffreys Bay for a brief beach visit. Then onwards to our luxury Game Reserve.

Day 7: Project

Behind the scenes safari experience visiting the Born Free Foundation, the veterinary centre and its residents, lectures on conservation efforts, tracks & signs and big game monitoring (think elephants & rhinos). Be prepared to get your hands a bit dirty as we will be assisting with whatever needs doing around the reserve! Evening game drives.

Day 8: Project

Behind the scenes safari experience visiting the Born Free Foundation, the veterinary centre and its residents, lectures on conservation efforts, tracks & signs and big game monitoring (think elephants & rhinos). Be prepared to get your hands a bit dirty as we will be assisting with whatever needs doing around the reserve! Evening game drives.

Day 9: Project

Morning visit to the local township, where you will meet some of the students and have the chance to see the local school in action. Opportunity to get involved with teaching English if you wish. R&R afternoon by the pool at the reserve.

Day 10: Project

Behind the scenes safari experience visiting the Born Free Foundation, the veterinary centre and its residents, lectures on conservation efforts, tracks & signs and telemetry tracking. Be prepared to get your hands a bit dirty as we will be assisting with whatever needs doing around the reserve! Evening game drives.

Day 11: Project

Behind the scenes safari experience visiting the Born Free Foundation, the veterinary centre and its residents, lectures on conservation efforts, tracks & signs and telemetry tracking. Be prepared to get your hands a bit dirty as we will be assisting with whatever needs doing around the reserve!

Day 12: Unwind in Port Elizabeth

Today we check into a luxury hotel where we will spend the next day and half on the seafront.

Day 13: Home time

Make our way to Port Elizabeth airport for return flight via Cape Town or Johannesburg. Option to stay on if you so wish.

Day 14: Arrival at home

Back home safe & sound and packed full of exciting stories!
